Frequently Asked Questions
Amadeo

Can individual fingers be targeted or isolated during therapy with Amadeo?

Yes, individual fingers can be targeted or isolated to address strength, spasticity, sensory input, and range of motion. This also enables the training of specific functional grasp patterns, such as a three-point grip.  As a result, Amadeo can accommodate patients with amputations or contractures.

Can Amadeo be used with patients who have spasticity or high tone?

Yes, Amadeo offers dedicated assessment and therapy options for users with spasticity or increased tone. For each finger, spasticity is assessed at three different speeds using the Modified Ashworth Scale and the Modified Tardieu Scale, while tone is measured at rest. Therapy programs such as Continuous Passive Movement and vibration therapy support tone management and intervention.

How long does the patient setup on Amadeo take?

Setup time with Amadeo is quick and intuitive depending on the therapist’s experience using Amadeo and the patient’s condition.

Is Amadeo only designed for passive finger mobilization?

No, Amadeo is much more than a passive finger mobilization device. It is a comprehensive robotic hand and finger rehabilitation system designed to support patients at all levels of impairment. Amadeo offers a wide range of therapy modes, including passive, active-assisted, and fully active training. With features such as real-time biofeedback, interactive gamified exercises, and adjustable resistance for strength training, it enables highly individualized and engaging therapy.
