Stroke Recovery: Mel Regains Confidence in Standing and Walking

After a stroke that caused left-side hemiparesis, Mel could only move short distances and described his walking as unsafe and uncertain.

Simply standing and shifting weight felt intimidating. At MOTIONrehab, Mel began intensive rehabilitation focused on rebuilding trust in his body—step by step.

Through robot-assisted rehabilitation, Mel trained with several Tyromotion therapy devices. His program included the Omego lower limb rehabilitation system, the Lexo robotic gait trainer, and the Diego robotic upper limb therapy device.

Together with the support of experienced physiotherapists, interactive and game-based therapy exercises helped Mel safely load his affected side, improve coordination, and regain balance. Over time, his biggest breakthrough came with renewed confidence—allowing him to stand, walk, and return to everyday activities with greater independence.
